ELLEN GRANTER
Ellen Granter gets inspiration from many sources, including the changing colors, patterns, and atmospheres of the landscape around her, the excitement of watching birds in the wild, and the random idea generator that is her imagination. In each painting, she is searching for an elegant balance of spare compositions over large fields of luminous color. When observing everyday subjects such as sparrows, she trys to pay attention to the small spaces between them and the abstract patterns that are created by their own characteristic movements.
